The qualification you get and what it's worth

The ECDL/ICDL is made up of seven modules and you can mix and match these to get different qualifications. We offer:

  • European/International Computer Driving Licence - All seven modules
  • ECDL/ICDL Start - Any four modules from the ECDL/ICDL syllabus
  • BCS* Level 1 Certificate for IT Users (ECDL/ICDL Part 1) - Modules 1, 2 and 7 of the ECDL syllabus

Known outside Europe as the International Computer Driving Licence, the ECDL/ICDL is available in over 140 countries and is "the world’s largest end-user computer skills certification programme, with more than 6 million candidates".

The ECDL/ICDL Start is certified, and although it is not a full qualification, is still generally recognised and can be requested when you complete any four of the seven ECDL/ICDL modules.

*The British Computer Society (BCS)IT User Level 1 is a nationally-recognised qualification within England and Wales. It is awarded when you complete modules 1, 2 and 7 of the ECDL/ICDL IF you request to be entered for the BCS IT User qualification.
