Online Television
There are increasing opportunities to watch the television on the
internet. Arguably, the best place to watch Spanish television is
the Informativos Telecinco website. Follow the steps below:
- Visit the Telecinco
site
- Click on “videos” at the top right of the Informativos
Telecinco homepage. This takes you to a page with a television news
bulletin that starts up automatically (after a few seconds). There
are also links on this page to lots of archived news stories on
a range of different subjects
- On the left of the screen you will see a list of topics. Click
on the one that interests you the most, then select a news report
by clicking on “reproducir”. Remember also to click
the “play” button below the tv screen
- Scroll down to the bottom of the page to find links to some more
television news reports
TIP: If you find it difficult to watch the news in Spanish, try
choosing a report on an issue from the Informativos Telecinco archived
list in “internacional” that you already know something
about e.g. the July 2005 terrorist attacks in London. Your background
knowledge and understanding of the issue will help with comprehension.
