Multimedia Presentations
There are a number of possible uses NTU staff
might have for Multimedia presentations
incorporating audio, video and interactivity:
Adobe
Captivate is the supported technologies which enable
these types of uses:
Virtual Lectures
- If a student cannot attend the lecture
a recording of it can be added with
the relevant slides accompanying the
lecture to be viewed at any time on
the Internet. Take a look at this Adobe Captivate example.
Refresher
- To act as a refresher for students, reminding
them of past lectures.
Even if a student did attend a previous
lecture, using Adobe
Captivate media can remind them of
relevant lectures that could prove useful
near exam time.
Training
- To train students/lecturers in practical skills
(e.g. IT skills, research methodology etc).
Share Information
- To share as an information source
Finally, Adobe
Captivate can be
used to share information about anything
relevant to your subject or school. Their
versatile features let you choose from
a number of layout options allowing you
to import most types of media without
the use of high spec video and editing
software.
Promotional Information
- Lecturers can use Adobe
Captivate to introduce themselves
to potential students and students
making module changes. Audio or Video
clips of the lecturer/tutor speaking
about the course would give a clear
overview of the subject, with a personal
touch.
The Learning and Teaching Unit is available to assist you with your project ideas and help you
learn the process of creating a multimedia presentation.
