1 Thomas Miller by Ernest George Gillick

Thomas Miller's appearance proved totally elusive and Wallis instead directed Gillick to provide a panel with 'an allegorical subject suggestive of the poet's sympathies with nature.' His representation of two female allegories crouching either side of a simple inscription does just this and Gillick received, like all the other sculptors, a fee of £300.
